Employing best management practices (BMPs) is  essential in an agricultural operation. BMPs protect the environment, while saving costs and agricultural inputs for the operator. BMPs include, but are not limited to:

  • Soil Conservation Practices
  • Water Conservation Practices
  • Manure Storage and Disposal
  • Hazardous Waste and Pesticide Disposal
  • Use of Herbicides

The following are just a few examples of agricultural BMPs. To get more information on BMPs, please contact the SADC or your local Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
