Home MenuStormwater Infrastructure Inventory and Watershed Study Project
Somerset County is conducting a comprehensive inventory of its roadway storm drainage system. GIS Stormwater Infrastructure Mapping for the entire county roadway system will be created. This inventory and mapping will both satisfy the NJDEP MS4 system requirements for the County’s 2025 Highway Agency Stormwater General Permit Renewal and act as a future capital planning and design tool.
In addition to this inventory, watershed studies for three subbasins (Cuckels Brook, Royce Brook and Harrison Brook) will be conducted. These studies shall include a hydrologic and hydraulic model of each subbasin and show where opportunities exist for improvements to water quality and for reductions in flooding.
Consultant survey crews and staff members will be collecting data along all county roadways and along streams and waterways within the watershed study areas. The project is anticipated to last two years.
