The County of Somerset (lead agency) and the County of Morris, through a federally funded Local Capital Project Delivery Program administered by North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), have, in close cooperation with New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Local Aid District 3, undertaken the replacement of Valley Road Bridge to address structural deficiencies to provide a safe and efficient bridge crossing in conformance with current AASHTO, NJDOT, and Somerset / Morris County design standards and policies.
The Local Concept Development (LCD) phase of the LCPD Program for the replacement of Valley Road Bridge was completed in June 2019 and the project has advanced to the Local Preliminary Engineering (LPE) phase. The Project Team will be hosting a Public Information Center meeting to inform local residents, officials, businesses, and the general public about updates to the Preliminary Engineering of the replacement of the Valley Road (CR 512) Bridge over the Passaic River. The purpose of the Information Center is to update the public and solicit public input and comment towards the project’s Preliminary Engineering design. The meeting will have an open-house format and includes a brief presentation. You will have the opportunity to review displays, ask questions and provide comments. Somerset County, Morris County, and support staff will be available to answer any questions. For more information, please visit our project website at www.valleyroadbridgenj.com.
