"Your Guide to Grant Success! Crafting a Compelling Grant Proposal" is a technical assistance workshop open to all local arts, history, and cultural nonprofit organizations' staff, volunteers, board members, and trustees; as well as individual artists. Advance registration is required.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: 

Writing successful grants is both an art and a science - join us for this practical "how to" grant writing session to explore a variety of tools and strategies that will make your organization's great work stand out!

Join Allison Trimarco of Creative Capacity LLC for this two-hour, in-person workshop to dive into the grant writing process and: 

  • Learn the essential steps of organizing and writing a compelling grant proposal 
  • Discover strategies for writing strong grant narratives and framing your organization's work in ways that demonstrate your value to the community 
  • Discuss the grant review process that panelists and funders use to evaluate proposals, giving you a deeper understanding of how grants are assessed and decisions are made

This workshop will teach tools and strategies applicable to writing grant proposals and applications for a variety of funders; with particular attention to the requirements of County Grant Programs such as the Local Arts Program and County History Partnership Program grants. 

We are planning to offer a single session of this workshop.
This workshop will not be recorded. 

REGISTRATION: 

There is a registration fee of $5 per participant that goes towards providing light refreshments. Please bring your registration fee with you to the in-person workshop. Payments can be made via cash or check. Please make checks out to "Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission". 

You are also welcome to deliver your registration fee prior to the workshop.

Allison Trimarco Creative CapacityABOUT ALLISON TRIMARCO:

Allison Trimarco is the owner of Creative Capacity (www.creativecapacity.net), which works with nonprofits to develop creative solutions to their management challenges. For almost 25 years, Creative Capacity has worked with cultural organizations all over the nation (but especially in its home state of New Jersey) on planning, board development, and fundraising projects. Allison has a particular interest in how small and mid-sized arts and cultural groups can make a positive impact on their communities. She earned her Master's degree in Arts Management with highest distinction at Carnegie Mellon University, and her Bachelor's degree in Theatre cum laude at Smith College.
