Are you interested in local history? Do you love learning new things? Join the Somerset County Docent Training Program - New Jersey's first collaborative training program for history docents!
Docents are dedicated volunteers who lead tours and public programs engaging visitors at historic house museums and historic sites. As a docent, you'll have the chance to inspire and educate people of all ages!
The Somerset County Docent Training Program will provide you with the essential skills and foundational knowledge you will need to become a volunteer docent for a local historic site. Attend interactive workshops, engage with experienced docents and educators, go on fieldtrips to historic sites, and more!
This free, in-person training program is open to all New Jersey residents ages 18+.
