The Somerset County Office of Youth Services offers workshops to community professionals including schools, non-profits, and families on current topics related to youth and families. They are offered several times during the year with no cost to the participants.

A Conversation About Internet Safety

Join the Somerset County Office of Youth Services for A Conversation About Internet Safety on Thursday, February 26, from 7:00–8:30 PM.

This Community Connections workshop will include a presentation, Q&A, and case studies focused on keeping children safe online. Topics include inappropriate content, online privacy, sextortion, exploitation, and how these issues are addressed. Detective Laird will also share an overview of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and its role in protecting youth.

Appropriate for parents, guardians, and professionals working with youth and families.

Immigration 101: Basic Overview of U.S. Immigration

In this presentation, participants will learn a clear, practical overview of the U.S. immigration system, including key terminology, processes, and policies, with an explanation of federal agencies, visa types, immigration statuses, humanitarian options, family and employment-based sponsorship, rights and responsibilities of immigrants, and pathways to U.S. citizenship and naturalization.
