The mission of HEAL Somerset is to empower communities through our accessible mobile harm reduction services. We strive to reduce negative consequences associated with various high-risk behaviors while providing non-judgmental and compassionate person-centered care. Our goal is to enhance well-being by providing education, support, and connection to resources, in order to foster safer, healthier lives for all individuals we serve. The primary objective of HEAL Somerset is to reduce the incidence of overdoses, injection-related diseases (Hepatitis C, HIV) and the overall burden of drug use in Somerset County by providing comprehensive harm reduction services. Some of the services we offer include peer support and case management, access to safer drug use kits, referrals to substance use, mental health, and healthcare services, and linkage to community resources.
