Detective Captain Rodas has twenty-nine (29) years of law enforcement experience. He began his career with the City of Plainfield, where he served for four (4) years and was assigned to the patrol and narcotics divisions. He also served as a police officer assigned to patrol for two and a half (2.5) years for the Readington Township Police Department. He has worked for twenty-two (22) years with the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office. His assignments within the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office have been with Narcotics, Burglary, Sex Crimes, and the Police Academy. As a supervisor, he has overseen Narcotics, Burglary, Special Investigations, Sex Crimes, Major Crimes, and Crime Scene. His current assignment is the Commander of the Somerset County Crime Scene Unit, Fire Investigations, and the Commander of the Somerset County Crisis Negotiation Team. He has an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Sociology, both from Centenary University. Captain Rodas is also the defensive Tactics Coordinator for the Training Institute and is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
